Stop Autoplay for YouTube™

If you have ever opened a bunch of videos in the background, you will know how annoying it is when they all start playing automatically. With this extension you will never have to worry about videos auto playing in the background.

Features & Capabilities

Stop Autoplay for YouTube™ is a handy Chrome extension designed to block YouTube videos from automatically playing when opened in background tabs. If you've ever found it frustrating to have multiple videos play simultaneously without your consent, this extension provides an easy solution by preventing auto playback. Additionally, it allows videos to auto buffer without triggering loading spinners, helping to enhance your browsing experience.

Please note that this extension doesn't affect playlist auto playback, as YouTube offers its own option to disable auto-playing the next video in playlists. It works great for videos, but shorts will not play and have no controls after the first two, and you have to go back and hit play on the previous short, which starts the audio, then scroll down to the next short. I have found no way around this.
