User Reviews
Pros
- Generally works on most pages, providing spoofed geolocation as intended.
- Allows setting a specific latitude/longitude to spoof your location.
- In some cases yields more accurate location than the network-provided one (city-level), not always street-level.
- Works across the latest Firefox and is reliable in practice.
- Positive developer support mentioned by users.
Cons
- UI/UX is confusing and hard to discover/configure; options are not clearly exposed.
- Inconsistent behavior across sites (e.g., works on Google Maps but not on OpenStreetMap; accuracy varies).
- Not self-contained; relies on external tools/coordinate services to obtain coordinates.
- Missing per-site controls (no blacklist/whitelist feature requested by users).
Recent reviews
Very bad choice.
I don't like having to write my geolocation on each web page that I open.
Especially when there is a default that I cannot even set to my real location.

Works fine initially. If it stops working, I'll change this review. Like one other reviewer, I declined when Firefox asked me if I wanted to add it to the (um) toolbar (?), so none of the advice about how to use it made any sense. I somehow managed to make the Spoof Geolocation icon appear when I hovered (or something) on the jigsaw-piece icon. When I clicked on that, I was in the right place. I pasted in my coords (copied from Google Maps) and then I was fine. I guess I'm saying that the instructions tell you how to use it, but not how to get into it. Some detailed instructions for dummies would be really good.

Is Spoof Geolocation Safe?
Risk impact
Risk impact measures the level of extra permissions an extension has access to. A low risk impact extension cannot do much harms, whereas a high risk impact extension can do a lot of damage like stealing your password, bypassing your security settings, and accessing your personal data. High risk impact extensions are not necessarily malicious. However, if they do turn malicious, they can be very harmful.
Spoof Geolocation requires a few sensitive permissions. Exercise caution before installing.
