Show QR Code Firefox

Show QR Code

Show quick response codes for any tab url, any selected link, text or bookmark

Features & Capabilities

Show QRCode lets you instantly generate and edit QR codes for the current tab URL, any link, selected text, or a bookmark. Click the toolbar button to open a popup with a QR code pre-filled for the active page, or right-click a link, tab or selection and choose “Show QRCode” from the context menu. Modify visual and meta options like QR type and error correction directly in the popup before saving or sharing.

The extension uses minimal permissions: activeTab (to read the current URL or selected text), storage (to save settings), and menus (to add the context menu item). Optional bookmarks permission allows QR generation for bookmarks. Common FAQs: icon overlays aren’t supported (increase error correction and add icons yourself) and batch generation is planned for a future update; pull requests are welcome.

User Reviews

Simple to use, can be customised in settings to set QR code colours, can right-click on generated QR code to copy to clipboard.

It does its job! It could be great if, instead of having to: right click the selection > show qr code, just having to: select the text on the page > click on the extension action icon in the toolbar (one click less, it's smoother and more user-friendly) to show a QR for a text selection.

Risk impact measures the level of extra permissions an extension has access to. A low risk impact extension cannot do much harms, whereas a high risk impact extension can do a lot of damage like stealing your password, bypassing your security settings, and accessing your personal data. High risk impact extensions are not necessarily malicious. However, if they do turn malicious, they can be very harmful.

Show QR Code does not require any sensitive permissions.
