Save Website as Image Firefox

Save Website as Image

Save a full snapshot of a website as a single or a series of images

Features & Capabilities

Save Website as Image is a lightweight browser extension that adds a toolbar button to capture an entire webpage in one click. It exports a full-page snapshot as a single image when possible, and automatically falls back to a segmented CBZ (ZIP of images) when browser canvas size limits are exceeded, ensuring you always get a complete capture.

No complex options or extra UI — the extension uses minimal permissions (storage, tabs, <all_urls>) to remember format and scaling preferences and to capture active tabs. It's ideal for saving long articles, full-page designs, or multi-scroll pages where built-in screenshot tools fail. Note: editing or annotation features are intentionally out of scope; use a separate editor for post-capture modifications.

User Reviews

Users consistently praise the add‑on’s simplicity, speed, and usefulness for saving full web pages and listings, and note helpful developer support. The top complaints are the removal of a PNG/JPEG format option (now JPEG‑only) and occasional failures or errors on large pages or temporary outages.
Pros
  • Simple, fast and easy to use (many users praise the add-on’s speed and simplicity)
  • Useful for saving/archiving full web pages or listings (commonly used to save eBay listings and catalogue browsing)
  • More convenient than Firefox’s built‑in workflow for some users (single-action saving and custom mouse mapping noted)
  • Developer is responsive and provides guidance/workarounds when issues arise
Cons
  • No option to choose output format — several users report it now saves only JPEG (loss of PNG choice)
  • Occasional failures or errors on large pages and intermittent “stopped working” reports (users reported unexpected errors or temporary outages)
Recent reviews
igorlogius thank you for replying to my concern about the change from an options tab to choose between PNG and JPG as well as max page px height. As you recommended I downgraded to v1.4.7 and disabled updates for this add-on. I should mention I found no delay when saving long webpages as PNG vs JPG. In the interim I did use the default Firefox Take Screenshot which saves as PNG but it requires right click then press "t" then choose full page download which I found difficult to map to a mouse key which is what I did with your add-on. I hope you will reconsider reinstating the options tab for your add-on. The simplicity and speed of your add-on is what made me choose it. :-)

This extension has been invaluable, especially as a way to save eBay listings of purchased items without losing anything shown on the browser. I noticed the extension stopped working today, but after the developer confirmed that it should work I tried again and it works now.

It used to capture to PNG. As of the last month it will only capture to JPEG. It is too bad there is no option to choose. The speed and simplicity made this extension exceptional.
