Paniklotse Android

Paniklotse

A calm exercise for moments of panic and the path to real support

Overview

Features & Capabilities

Anyone who's ever had a panic attack knows: in that moment, reading, searching, or adjusting settings is out of the question. That's why this app has just one large button. Behind it is a glowing figure eight that you simply follow with your finger. It sets a pace for you, optionally with a soft tone and gentle vibration, and gradually becomes calmer. You can't go wrong. If you just want to watch, that's fine too. At night, the screen dims and warms up so you're not startled by a harsh white.

Afterwards, when you've recovered, the app provides answers to the questions that arise after an attack. What just happened to my body? Why does it feel so threatening even though everything was fine at the doctor's? And why does it happen again? There are dedicated sections for nighttime, for partners and friends who want to help, and for parents whose child experiences panic attacks.

You can record what happened in the diary. The app automatically enters the date and time; you simply tap where you were and how severe the symptoms were. Over time, you'll see when and where they affect you. A daily mood check simultaneously tracks your progress. All of this remains on your device. There's no account, no advertising, and no tracking.

And then there's the part that gives this app its name: the guide. Anyone looking for therapy in Germany can quickly find themselves in a maze of appointments, forms, and waiting lists. The app guides you through this process step by step, from the initial consultation with a psychotherapist to calling 116 117 and completing form PTV 11—everything you can check off. If you can't find a therapist, you can collect your inquiries and rejections in the search log, and the reimbursement guide explains the next steps. The app even generates the necessary letters to your health insurance provider as PDFs. If desired, your diary can be converted into a report that you can take to your initial consultation.

The app also helps you find a therapist. A few things should be clear: This app is not a medical device and does not replace medical or psychotherapeutic treatment. It guides you through the moment, explains what is known about panic attacks, and shows you the way to people who can truly support you. You can reach emergency numbers from anywhere in the app.

The basic functions are free. You purchase the full version once and keep it, without a subscription. You will see the price before you enter anything.
