User Reviews

PhotoShow is broadly loved for its reliability, convenience, and rich feature set. Users praise the pop-up viewer and quick actions plus rotate/mirror, making it a favorite extension. However, there are recurring caveats: RTX VSR conflicts on streaming sites, zoom issues with some images, keystroke interception limitations in newer Firefox, GIF/video preview gaps, and occasional site-specific performance issues. Overall, a strong, well-regarded tool with a few compatibility caveats.
Pros
  • Works as described and reliable.
  • Very convenient and improves browsing.
  • Rich feature set: pop-up HD image viewer, quick actions (Open/Save/Copy HD image), rotate/mirror.
  • Highly praised; considered a favorite/top extension.
  • Well-integrated and easy to use.
Cons
  • RTX VSR conflicts on streaming platforms (e.g., Twitch) when the add-on is enabled.
  • Some images fail to zoom (white X) on occasion.
  • Certain Firefox keystrokes aren’t intercepted in newer versions (e.g., Firefox 146).
  • GIF/video previews not working on some sites (e.g., DeviantArt).
  • Occasional performance issues on specific sites (e.g., frame drops on Bilibili).

Is PhotoShow Safe?

Risk impact
Risk impact measures the level of extra permissions an extension has access to. A low risk impact extension cannot do much harms, whereas a high risk impact extension can do a lot of damage like stealing your password, bypassing your security settings, and accessing your personal data. High risk impact extensions are not necessarily malicious. However, if they do turn malicious, they can be very harmful.

PhotoShow requires some sensitive permissions that could impact your browser and data security. Exercise caution before installing.

Risk likelihood
Risk likelihood measures the probability that a Firefox add-on may turn malicious. This is determined by the publisher and the Firefox add-on reputation on Firefox Add-ons Store, the amount of time the Firefox add-on has been around, and other signals about the Firefox add-on. Our algorithms are not perfect, and are subject to change as we discover new ways to detect malicious extensions. We recommend that you always exercise caution when installing a Firefox add-on.

PhotoShow has earned a fairly good reputation and likely can be trusted.
