Zoom in/out on images and videos using Shift + scroll wheel. Drag to reposition. Right-click for zoom, rotate and bring-to-front actions. Works on any website.

Features & Capabilities

Zoom in and out on images and videos on any website — without opening them in a new tab.

How to use: • Hover over an image or video, hold Shift and scroll the mouse wheel to zoom in or out • Hold Shift and drag to reposition the zoomed element • Press Escape to reset the element back to its original size and position • Right-click for a context menu with zoom, rotate and reset actions

Features: • Works on images, videos, SVG, canvas and background images • Zoom toward the cursor position (like Windows Photo Viewer) — optional • Bring to front: lift a covered image above overlapping elements with a keyboard shortcut (Alt+A by default) • Lightbox mode: open any element in a fullscreen overlay that works on any site regardless of stacking context • Rotate 90°, 180° via context menu • Configurable zoom modifiers: Shift, Ctrl, Alt, right mouse button, middle mouse button, or any key • Keyboard zoom shortcuts (Numpad +/−) — optional • Works inside iframes and shadow DOM • No data collected, no external requests

Works on Chrome, Firefox, and Firefox for Android (Manifest V3).

Modern fork of the original kpion/inzoom extension, rebuilt in TypeScript with WXT.

Is OutZoom Safe?

Risk impact
Risk impact measures the level of extra permissions an extension has access to. A low risk impact extension cannot do much harms, whereas a high risk impact extension can do a lot of damage like stealing your password, bypassing your security settings, and accessing your personal data. High risk impact extensions are not necessarily malicious. However, if they do turn malicious, they can be very harmful.

OutZoom requires a few sensitive permissions. Exercise caution before installing.

Our algorithms are not perfect, and are subject to change as we discover new ways to detect malicious extensions. We recommend that you always exercise caution when installing a Firefox add-on.

OutZoom is recently added, and hasn't been around long enough for us to gather enough data to accurately assess its risk level.
