User Reviews

The reviews largely praise Page Sidebar as a great extension with useful AI-browsing potential. However, recurring concerns include limited Android support, panel instability (refresh/persistence on toggle), Firefox Sync conflicts, and feature gaps (pinning, adding tabs, stable home button). Overall, it’s positively regarded but users urge cross‑platform parity, stability improvements, and more features.
Pros
  • Generally great extension with positive reception across multiple reviews.
  • Useful AI assistant integration (Page Sidebar → local OpenWebUI → Ollama).
  • Some reviewers consider it one of the best sidebars for browsers, indicating strong potential.
Cons
  • Android availability issue: not available on Android, causing cross‑platform mismatch and user frustration.
  • Tabs can refresh when reopening the panel, disrupting workflow.
  • Toggling can clear the displayed page and lack of persistence across toggles.
  • Firefox Sync issues: design changes can affect sync behavior and require workarounds.
  • Missing features and glitches: requests for tab pinning, adding tabs, and a more stable home button (plus related stability concerns).

It wraps pages in it's own page, by default requesting monitoring by bots and even opens doors for even much worse practices. I consider this extension very unsafe. In addition, the same "feature" makes it impossible to be used with many web apps, often exactly those one wants to use in the sidebar, because they don't allow wrapping.

great extension! it's almost perfect. just need to fix the problem when you close it and then open it again, the tabs refresh. thats a big problem for me because i want to use whatsapp web and other links that i dont want to refresh every time i open the panel, cause they're essentials to my productivity. take opera as example. the best sidebar among all browsers
