Open in Brave Browser

Open current page, link, or all tabs in the Brave browser

The "Open in Brave Browser" Chrome extension enables users to effortlessly open the current webpage, individual links, or all open tabs in the Brave browser. This functionality eliminates the hassle of manually copying and pasting URLs by sending them directly to Brave. If Brave is not already running, the extension will launch a new instance to open the requested pages.

To utilize this extension, a small native client must be installed to facilitate communication between Chrome and Brave. This client supports Windows, Mac, and Linux platforms and is easy to set up with guided video tutorials available. Additional options include closing tabs in Chrome after they're opened in Brave, providing users with a streamlined browsing workflow. This tool is perfect for users who prefer Brave but often browse in Chrome, allowing seamless transition between browsers.

works fine with the apt installation of Brave Browser. It doesn't seem to work with Flatpak installations by default. If you know Flatpak, you may be able to fix the path in the Open in Brave Browser settings.

Extension safety

A low risk impact extension cannot do much harms, whereas a high risk impact extension can do a lot of damage like stealing your password, bypassing your security settings, and accessing your personal data. High risk impact extensions are not necessarily malicious. However, if they do turn malicious, they can be very harmful.

Open in Brave Browser requires a few sensitive permissions. Exercise caution before installing.
