Magnetar Firefox

Magnetar

By: Arr Cee Add-on
Detect torrent hashes on any page and send them to Real-Debrid, TorBox, Premiumize, AllDebrid, RDT Client, or your local client. Built-in popup blocker included.

Features & Capabilities

Magnetar detects torrent info hashes and magnet links on webpages and sends them to your preferred download service in one click. It also includes a built-in popup and redirect blocker, saved items, batch handling, Magnetar Mobile sync, organised folders, and TorBox Airlock support.

DOWNLOAD MODES

Six backends, configurable per install:

  • Real-Debrid: cloud downloading with cache pre-check
  • AllDebrid: cloud downloading with native cache lookup
  • Premiumize: cloud storage and downloader
  • TorBox: cloud downloading with native cache lookup and Airlock support
  • RDT Client: self-hosted Real-Debrid proxy with category routing
  • Local client: hands the magnet to your OS default handler, such as qBittorrent, Deluge or Transmission
MAGNETAR SYNC AND MOBILE

Magnetar 2.2 adds optional sync with Magnetar Mobile.

Pair the extension with the Android app using a private QR code, then keep supported Magnetar data in step across desktop and mobile.

Sync can keep saved items, sent history, mobile Review items and organised folders in step. Provider API keys and client passwords stay local to the device where they were entered.

Send to mobile lets you send a single item or a whole batch from the extension to the Magnetar Mobile Review queue, so you can check items on your phone before saving, sending or browsing.

ORGANISED FOLDERS

Organised folders help you group items inside Magnetar.

They are Magnetar folders, not provider folders. They do not move, rename, delete or change files inside TorBox, Real-Debrid, AllDebrid, Premiumize or any other provider.

Folder names, colours and contents can sync between the extension and Magnetar Mobile when Sync is enabled.

TORBOX AIRLOCK

For supported TorBox items, Magnetar can show and toggle Airlock directly from the provider list or organised folder items.

Airlock is TorBox state. If you Airlock an item in Magnetar, TorBox updates, and other paired devices can see the current state when they refresh TorBox with their own local TorBox setup.

KEY FEATURES

Save for later. Bookmark torrents from the banner or any batch row and send them in your own time. The queue is persistent across browser restarts.

Batch panel for multi-torrent listings. Sort by name, seeders or file size. Toggle between 25, 50 or 75 torrents shown. Per-row save bookmarks and a slide-out drawer with stats, your saved queue and recent history.

Universal hash detection. Magnetar looks for magnet links, labelled hashes, structured data attributes and broad hash matches. Non-torrent pages bail out quickly.

Cache checking. For supported providers, Magnetar shows whether a torrent is already cached before you send it, so you know if it should be available quickly. A tiered cache layer cuts repeat API calls so your provider is not hammered.

Magnetar Shield. Built-in popup and redirect blocker that helps stop hostile popup and redirect behaviour. Right-click any page to add it to the blocklist.

Light and dark themes. Switches live across every surface, no page refresh required.

Localised in 11 languages. English, Swedish, French, German, Russian, Italian, Spanish, Danish, Romanian, Lithuanian and Czech. Auto-detects from your browser locale.

Source available. Code is available at github.com/ArrCee76/magnetar.

PRIVACY

Magnetar is local-first.

Provider API keys and client passwords stay on the device where you enter them. They are not synced.

Without Magnetar Sync, the extension runs locally in your browser and talks only to the provider or client you configure.

If you enable Magnetar Sync, synced Magnetar data is encrypted before it reaches the sync server. Sync is used for Magnetar metadata such as saved items, sent history, mobile Review items and organised folders. Provider files are not uploaded to Magnetar Sync, and provider files or folders are never changed by Organised folders.

No analytics. No telemetry. No advertising tracking.

Is Magnetar Safe?

Risk impact
Risk impact measures the level of extra permissions an extension has access to. A low risk impact extension cannot do much harms, whereas a high risk impact extension can do a lot of damage like stealing your password, bypassing your security settings, and accessing your personal data. High risk impact extensions are not necessarily malicious. However, if they do turn malicious, they can be very harmful.

Magnetar requires some sensitive permissions that could impact your browser and data security. Exercise caution before installing.
