User Reviews

Torrent Control is praised for reliable magnet-link handling and general usefulness after setup, especially with Transmission, and for its competitive edge over alternatives like Remote Torrent Adder. However, users report authentication/login problems (401 errors and qbittorrent login issues) that block torrent additions, plus occasional reliability and compatibility hiccups with certain server setups. Overall it’s a solid, valuable tool with notable caveats around login and occasional instability.
Pros
  • Generally works well after setup and is easy to use.
  • Works with popular torrent clients (notably Transmission) and redirects magnet links to the torrent client.
  • Seen as a must-have / very useful add-on, often preferred over Remote Torrent Adder.
  • Custom URL matching is a nice feature.
Cons
  • Authentication/login issues prevent torrent additions (e.g., 401 errors or qbittorrent login problems) reported by multiple users.

I can't figure out why it fails so often. Generally works great but some days it just fails repeatedly until it randomly works ago. Seedbox works fine no changes there, can add things manually or via links just fine. other addons in chrome work but this just doesn't sometimes... so weird. Might be my client though so otherwise good app
