Extension summary

Amplecap helps capture the best of the internet into your Amplenote notes, to-do lists, and bullet lists.

This release includes the following capture types:

Screenshot selection Pick an area of the page to capture, we'll also grab the URL of the page and any notes you want to store with it. All text in the screenshot can optionally be searched or pasted into your Amplenote notebook via built-in OCR.

Page excerpt Drag to select quotes, phrases, or information you want to remember from any web page. A list of all quotations selected is captured by Amplecap for you to optionally edit before saving. The URL of the page and time of capture is automatically recorded to your note along with the list of citations.

Full page capture Capture the entire scrollable contents of the current web page. We perform two passes of the page to ensure that dynamically loading content will be loaded & visible in your full page screenshot.

Quick Note If you want to capture a to-do item not necessarily related to the page you're browsing, and send it to your Amplenote to-do list without opening the app.

It keeps asking me to log in even though I am logged in. I cannot get it to work.

This really needs work; it's not consistent nor reliable enough to work with at the moment. Captured text remains highlighted and / or ~|:; inserted into text on some web pages after capture, with the only way to clear the these being to disable / enable the extension. Quality of text capture is patchy to say the least. Sometimes formatting is retained, other times one long scree of text is captured with no formatting. There's no full web page capture, other than screenshot. Not entirely related, but there's no zoom on the Windows app, making text captures almost unreadable on hi-res displays. I also made the mistake of paying for an annual sub before spotting these issues, and have had no response from the developers regarding anything I've raised, or my asking to cancel the sub through the Desktop app (there's no direct support contact anywhere in the app or on their website for paying customers). All in all this is a really poor user experience & I'd advise anyone to steer clear for the moment.

Lots of friction issues. It's very not good at selecting the right tab if you have multiple browser windows open - especially if one browser is fullscreen. It also seems to be an utter memory hog.
