User Reviews

Overall, Impulse Blocker is praised as a simple, effective site blocker that works for many users: easy to set up, quick to add sites, and helpful for beating procrastination and addictive browsing. However, several reviews note reliability issues or platform limits—especially on Android—and privacy concerns about broad data permissions. Some users also dislike the post-block page, and the pause/disable flow can feel cumbersome, prompting calls for stronger disable controls (e.g., 2FA). Despite these, many users consider it one of the best site-blocking tools available.
Pros
  • Blocks sites effectively and as advertised.
  • Simple to set up and easy to add sites.
  • Helps reduce procrastination and maintain focus.
  • Reliable and lightweight; no major bugs reported.
  • Highly regarded by users as a top site-blocker.
Cons
  • Some users report it does not work at all.
  • Android version is not supported; not working on Android.
  • Privacy concerns about permission to read all webpage data, including passwords.
  • Pause/disable flow can be inconvenient; users want stronger disable controls (e.g., 2FA).
  • A blocked-page overlay appears after blocking, which some users find annoying.

This is actually GREAT for blocking sites that are redirected to you like temu when you are on apps that open the site as an ad in your browser (like dating apps). Several times I was on dating apps and the temu ad automatically will open the temu website. Well this blocks that. Just add temu domains. Thanks.
