User reviews

Users generally find Website Blocker simple and effective for blocking major distracting sites once they learn to use the 'block domain and subdomains' setting. Positive remarks focus on its ease of use and active developer updates. However, many note it lacks password protection and an easy-access icon, making management less convenient. Some report inconsistent blocking on certain sites. Initial setup confusion and the use of redirects instead of full URL blocks also detract from the experience. Overall, it's a useful basic blocker with room for improvements.
Pros
  • Effectively blocks distracting and unwanted websites like YouTube and Reddit.
  • Simple and relatively easy to use once settings are understood.
  • Allows blocking of domains and all subdomains to enhance effectiveness.
  • Developer is actively working on improvements and adding new features.
  • Supports backup/export of block list for use across devices.
Cons
  • Lacks password protection to prevent unauthorized changes to block list.
  • Some websites like Instagram and certain pages are not blocked consistently.
  • No icon or quick access from browser toolbar; users have to open addons page manually.
  • No instructions included, causing initial confusion for some users.
  • Blocking often works by internal redirect rather than full URL blocking, which some users dislike.

Simple, realitively easy to use once you figure out to use the "Block domain and all subdomain" setting. Works really well to block unwanted websites. Only thing holding me back from putting 5 stars is that it would be nice to have a password lock option to prevent unwanted changes to the block list.
