User Reviews

Users widely praise Trailforks for finding local MTB trails and planning rides, with an easy-to-use interface and community-driven trail data. However, sentiment is heavily tempered by recurring issues: heavy paywalls and perceived poor value, persistent bugs and reliability problems, data quality gaps (mislisted trails, wrong parking, private lands), and unsatisfactory customer support. The app remains a valuable resource for trail information, but its cost and reliability issues significantly affect user satisfaction.
Pros
  • Easy to use with an intuitive menu/interface
  • Strong for finding local trails and planning MTB rides
  • Lists trail names which aids quick recognition
  • Community-driven information with user-contributed trails
Cons
  • Paywall and high subscription costs / perceived poor value
  • Frequent bugs and reliability issues (crashes, freezes, login problems, recording issues)
  • Data quality problems (mislisted trails, unsanctioned/private trails missing, parking data errors)
  • Poor customer support and account handling (deactivated accounts, slow responses)

When I got on Trailforks the sign in was easy and efficient. Using it is also really easy. One of my favorite features is looking at the photos of the trails to know how it looks. 6/5 stars top three best apps out there. Recommend fully.

This used to be the go-to app; the intrusive “buy pro now” ads make it unusable. I’m not opposed to buying apps (am an AllTrails Subscriber) but this feels obnoxious. Will delete instead.
