This app doesn’t work. I signed up for it, scheduled a service and the “pro” never showed up. After two days of waiting, I complained and got excuses like “weather issues” when it was sunny for two days. Then they tried to reschedule my service for three days later. So I just cancelled my account. Stay away!

I’ve used LawnStarter many times over the years, and I’ve given them way too many chances. At first, it was just random reschedules for days or weeks at a time. Then it was missed appointments, that they charged for anyways. Then the quality of work started to deteriorate. It was like it had turned into a race to cut down the grass as quickly as possible, with no concern for anything else. And that’s when the property damage started. Small things at first, a random chip on the wood of the house. Nothing overly obvious or provable, but when you hear them mowing and then hear a loud thwack on the siding, you know. Then, they killed a tree with a weed whacker and I had to go through the claims process. It was long and arduous, and the burden of proof fell on me. I took a long break from Lawnsrarter after that. I recently decided to give them one last chance with a different contractor and they failed spectacularly. In the job description, I detailed the location of my vegetable garden with request it not be mowed. The contractor did an initial assessment and contacted me about the quote and mowing schedule. I again mentioned the garden, and asked that they ask us to verify the location as we would be home. Needless to say, they didn’t knock on the door, just started mowing, and mowed the garden to the ground. Insult to injury, they broke the decorative ceramic garden sign and just left it there in pieces. After a week of the claims process, they offered us a $75 credit in future mows, for over $300 in damages. The service is not worth it. Do the leg work and find a local lawn service that answers to you.

I signed up last weekend. I was told over the phone that I would receive a text with a link to download the app, and that my first service would be on Tuesday or Wednesday of this week. I never received a text. It is now thursday, the 11th. I found the app myself, synced it up to my account, and discovered the first service is actually scheduled for the 18th (9 days later than promised)! I went to chat with customer service through the app and they use an AI chatbot! Completely useless, waste of time and resources. Highly unimpressed with this company so far, and I haven’t even received any lawn care yet.
