Overall, users praise C-MAP for reliability on boating trips and strong support, with user-friendly design and good features at a fair price. However, recurring stability problems—crashes on startup or during use—followed by frequent failures to save tracks, map loading and data quality issues (missing contours, locating lakes, depth errors), and an AIS feature that requires internet, are the most recurrent, critical drawbacks.

Frequent crashes and instability (crashes on startup/loading, app closes unexpectedly).
Inability to save tracks led to data loss and safety concerns.

Data quality and coverage issues (missing contour lines on some lakes, lakes not locatable, depth/contour inaccuracies).
Premium AIS features require internet connectivity, offline functionality is not supported.

Recent reviews

I have tried to use this app for a couple of seasons. At the start it worked fine and was quite useful. Last season, it would lose track of my location usually in important areas, like where I needed to know where I was to set anchor versus running aground or narrow channels with poor markings. This season , it won’t show my location on the map at all. This is a basic map function! I have deleted the app and re- downloaded it with the same issues. I want my money back and will use another app.

Works sometimes but crashes frequently when ypu switch apps. Today im pff san diego and i cant even get the app to start. I have 5g, I rebooted my phome and it starts and crashes before i het a map 5 Out of sox times. The last time it gets a map, Doesnt bring up a cours or roit and then crashes. Im done. Cancelling subscription
