User Reviews

Users praise Taichi Temple for clear, slow instruction by Master Li, a beginner-friendly path that starts with basics, plus a calm, distraction-free feel and affordable price. It's seen as a solid introduction to tai chi and qigong, especially for older users or anyone seeking a pace-friendly practice. However, multiple reviews cite stability and usability issues: the app can fail to open or crash, and navigation is linear with limited ability to go back or skip. The portrait-only design and occasional overlays hinder use on tablets. Content is video-only with few guides.
Pros
  • Clear, slow, and straightforward instruction from Master Li, easy for beginners to follow.
  • Beginner-friendly and starts at the basics; good for older adults and those new to Tai Chi.
  • Relaxing, calm practice with minimal distractions and a clean UI.
  • Affordable price; not a subscription; perceived good value.
  • Good introduction to Tai Chi and Qigong with structured segments.
Cons
  • Stability issues: the app can fail to open, crash, or freeze (e.g., lesson 10 not playing).
  • Navigation limitations: hard to go back or skip between segments; progress/resume can be tricky.
  • Portrait-only UI and lack of landscape mode; difficult on tablets or larger screens.
  • Overlay/top menu ads can interfere with tapping and content access.
  • Limited features: video-only with no written instructions, no slow-motion option, few pacing aids.

Update: The last section locks up in a white screen, which may or may not have happened since the last iPadOS update. This has been updated since my initial download and am quite pleased. It now fits on my iPad, allows a horizontal orientation, the workflow is smooth and manageable and they include a non-intrusive nag feature which I really like.

The app is unusable. There is zero support. The only response is an automated acknowledge receipt and that’s it. Would NOT recommend.
