User Reviews

Users praise the Denver Post Digital e-Edition for readability, newspaper-like full-page layout, and handy features such as Apple Pencil-annotated puzzles and portable reading. However, many reviews report reliability problems and significant pain points after updates, including loss of access to past editions and confusing navigation. Archive access is hard to find, searches are limited to downloaded issues, and iPad users report portrait-mode issues or app crashes. Overall, it works for some but has stability and usability concerns for others.
Pros
  • Readable and easy to use, often preferred over the PC version
  • Newspaper-like, full-size pages with digital advantages
  • Portable access anywhere; no ink on hands; travel-friendly
  • Puzzles and annotations via Apple Pencil/markup
  • Format and speed are generally good; it works reliably for many users
Cons
  • Reliability problems: frequent crashes, editions failing to load, and needing reinstallation
  • Major update (4.0) degraded navigation and removed useful features (past editions, puzzles) with tangled UI
  • Difficulty finding or accessing past editions/archive; hidden archives
  • iPad-specific issues: portrait mode not supported and app sometimes won't open on iPad
  • Search is limited to downloaded issues and overall performance/loading can be slow

I am a prefer a paper newspaper reader. This application is changing my newspaper reading habits, due to the application ease of use.

Compared to the version I get on my PC, this app is rather brilliant. While the PC version is at best clumsy and cluttered, this app is readable and navigable — gets the job done. Albeit with an organization that obviously under staffed and over worked. If you wring out what’s attributed to the NYT and AP, there’s not much to it.

This is the only app I have to delete/re-install regularly. It’s pretty bad, and a turn-off to my Denver Post subscription.
