User Reviews

Overall, users reward OBDLink for easy code reading/clearing, bidirectional control, reliable Bluetooth, and highly customizable live data dashboards. The app is praised for being simple to use with a logical layout. Recurrent downsides include no CarPlay support, occasional reliability issues (hangs/disconnects), limited advanced diagnostics for certain brands, and UI quirks in the Monitors tab. Some vehicles and PIDs are not fully supported (EVs, 11-bit PIDs), and users want broader features and better data access in future updates.
Pros
  • Clears and reads trouble codes reliably
  • Bidirectional functionality works well
  • Stable Bluetooth connection and intuitive layout
  • Highly customizable live data dashboards with charts, ranges, and alerts
  • Easy to use with simple setup and good data organization
Cons
  • No Apple CarPlay support (frequent user request)
  • Occasional reliability issues like hangs or stability hiccups
  • Lacks advanced diagnostics and manufacturer-specific functions (e.g., BMW/VW, KOEO/KOER)
  • UI/Monitors readability issues (sorting by CID makes some data hard to read)
  • PID/data limitations (11-bit PIDs; not suited for EVs)

I purchased an OBD links MX plus to do proxy alignment on my Chrysler 200 with the alpha app, but I had to use my android tablet to actually connect to the modules with the alpha app this OBD links app sync up perfectly to show me everything else though it’s like having one of those big fancy scanners just on my phone it did everything I needed to do couldn’t have asked for anything else
