The Sentara Health Plans mobile app (formerly Optima Health) provides secure, convenient on-demand access to your health plan information—wherever you are. The latest version adds features to help you find care, view benefits, and manage personalized wellness tools, all in one secure place.

Key capabilities include finding doctors and urgent care centers, viewing coverage and claims details (in-network expenses, deductibles, and balances), viewing and emailing member ID cards, updating your profile and contact preferences, and managing how you communicate with Sentara. Note: you must be a Sentara Health Plans member to use the secure features. Sentara Health Plans serves Virginia with a broad provider network.

When searching for a doctor, you will noticed that the “BACK” button is broken as it will take you back to the homepage and you will lose all of your filter inputs. Annoying to retype and reselect every time I look at a different doctor’s information page.

Not well thought out or tested Buttons with dark green lettering on dark blue background No ability to reference my data in different parts of the same app For example, schedule a virtual visit for a dependent. All the dependent’s info has to be retyped even though it’s all there in a different screen of the same app. Including finding the member number- all that data lost while going to a different screen of the same app. Have to write it down on paper before going back to the virtual visit and having to enter it all again. Finding and switching doctors doesn’t work Needs better design, integration and testing

Just started my health insurance through work, started the app and they gave me a primary care provider, the one given isn’t a primary care provider and neither is the 15 numbers I called trying to find a Dr to be MY Dr. This is exactly why men stay silent and die at work!
