User Reviews

Users consistently praise Hue Lights for its advanced control, extensive features, and strong developer support, with broad bridge compatibility and voice control via Alexa/Siri. However, recurring issues appear across reviews: unreliable bridge connections and post-update breakages; a steep learning curve and a less intuitive UI; stability issues and occasional crashes; and concerns about pricing and in-app purchases. Overall, it’s a powerful tool for power users, but not ideal for casual users seeking a simple, reliable experience.
Pros
  • Very powerful control with advanced features like Sequences, custom animations, and Scene Effects.
  • Strong developer support and responsive troubleshooting.
  • Broad compatibility with Hue bridges (older and newer) and solid HomeKit/Siri integration.
  • Regular updates and ongoing feature improvements.
  • Alexa and Siri voice control support for hands-free operation.
Cons
  • Bridge/connection reliability and setup issues, including 'cannot find bridge' and post-update breakages.
  • Steep learning curve and a complex, sometimes dry UI that’s not beginner-friendly.
  • Stability issues and occasional crashes, especially during edits or after updates.
  • Cost and monetization concerns, with in-app purchases for extra lights or features.
  • Widget and UI usability problems, making some controls feel clunky or unintuitive.

App is good but the worst thing is ,not compatible with Alexa I made user sequences but they cannot be activated by Alexa routines My advise to make all scenes and sequences Alexa compatible in new update

I have loved this app for almost 10 years. The recent updates ensure compatibility with the new Hue bridge pro and, of course, the older bridge. Simple easy to use layout, fantastic programming capabilities, great developer support. I have tried a half dozen alternatives, this one is the best by far!
