C.A.R.E. SimBalloon is a high-fidelity intra-aortic balloon pump (IABP) trainer for nursing, perfusion, paramedic and critical-care education.

THE CONSOLE (iPad) • Live ECG, arterial pressure and balloon-pressure waveforms • Timing-assessment markers: unassisted systolic peak, dicrotic notch, diastolic augmentation, balloon-aortic end-diastolic pressure, and assisted systole • Trigger modes: ECG, pressure, V-pace, AV-pace, internal and auto • Inflation and deflation timing in 10 ms steps, assist ratios 1:1 through 1:8 • Augmentation level, balloon volume, standby, freeze and a full alarm log

THE INSTRUCTOR REMOTE (iPhone) • 20 scenarios across Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced tiers • Drive heart rate, blood pressure and rhythm live • Inject faults: helium leak, gas occlusion, catheter migration, balloon rupture, trigger loss, AC power loss • Step a learner through the 1:1 → 1:2 → 1:3 → 1:8 weaning protocol

WHAT LEARNERS PRACTISE Reading counterpulsation off the arterial trace, recognising early and late inflation and deflation, troubleshooting helium and trigger faults, managing arrest and ROSC on support, and weaning a recovering patient.

TWO DEVICES, NO INTERNET The console and the instructor remote pair directly over your local Wi-Fi. Nothing leaves the network, and no account is required. Both roles also run standalone on a single device.
