Process & Chemical Engineering
Thermodynamic properties, phase equilibrium, reactions, and process engineering cases — all calculated locally, no internet required.
ProcessChem puts a chemical engineer's property tables, equation-of-state solvers, and unit-operation calculators in your pocket — no spreadsheet, no lookup binder, no internet connection required.
PROPERTY LOOKUPS
Pull density, viscosity, thermal conductivity, heat capacity, vapor pressure, heat of vaporization, compressibility factor, and surface tension for thousands of pure chemicals and mixtures. Hazard and safety data included: flash point, flammability limits, exposure limits, and carcinogen/GWP/ODP flags.
PHASE EQUILIBRIUM & FLASH CALCULATIONS
Run flash calculations across any two-property target — temperature, pressure, enthalpy, entropy, internal energy, or volume — to find the resulting phase state and composition. Powered by CoolProp's reference-quality equations of state for over 100 fluids, with a Peng-Robinson backend covering the rest.
REACTIONS & EQUILIBRIUM
Balance chemical reactions automatically, track excess reagent and conversion, and run full energy balances. A dedicated equilibrium solver finds multi-species reaction composition at any temperature and pressure. An electrochemistry mode computes cell voltage and electron balances for electrolysis and battery chemistry.
MULTI-COMPONENT MIXTURES
Peng-Robinson with ChemSep binary interaction parameters, bubble/dew point calculations, and per-component hazard data — across every mode in the app.
PROCESS ENGINEERING CASES
- Vessel leak estimation: give a vessel's contents, initial conditions, and a leak opening (or target final pressure), and get back leak rate, mass discharged, and time to depressurize — adiabatic or isothermal, with optional pressure-regulator (PRV) modeling
- Fluidized bed design: Geldart classification, minimum fluidization velocity, elutriation, and multi-species reacting beds
UNITS, YOUR WAY
A dedicated Units tab lets you pick your preferred unit for every quantity in the app, with a configurable Normal/Standard reference for gas-volume conversions.
Built for process, chemical, and plant engineers, students, and anyone who needs a real thermodynamic answer faster than a lookup table can give one.
