Fingerchase: Piano Practice

Fingerchase helps you practice piano with sheet music, falling notes, and synchronized keyboard hints. Play a piece, adjust the tempo, or repeat a selected passage. Your practice position and history are saved on your device so you can continue later.

Scores and keyboard hints • Switch between staff notation and falling notes with synchronized keyboard hints. • Read full-screen pages that adapt to portrait and landscape. • Drag through the waterfall to seek; playback resumes after you finish seeking if it was already playing.

Playback and passage practice • Practice the left or right hand, then bring both hands together. • Drag to adjust playback speed and see the current setting. • Set an A–B loop to repeat a selected passage. • Continue from your last position or start again. • Open Free Practice and the metronome without choosing a piece.

Practice history and sharing Review practice time and history by day, month, or year. Explore on-device achievements and save pieces to your favorites. After practice, save or share a results poster that contains no piece titles, notation, or recordings.

Personal scores and music theory Import MusicXML, MXL, or MIDI to use the same reading, playback, and practice tools. Piece details show supported tonal information, with paths to learn scales, scale degrees, and keys. Notation derived from MIDI performance data may differ from the original printed score.

Share ideas in the forum Search questions, suggestions, and discussions. Comment, agree or disagree, and follow the developer's public progress. Your feedback helps us understand what you need. Reading needs no account; posting and interacting require Sign in with Apple.

Experimental tools Image/PDF score recognition, microphone score following, and solo-piano audio transcription are experimental. Results depend on input quality, pedal use, polyphony, and noise. Please check the results before use. Microphone following helps locate your place in the score; it does not assess technique or mastery.

Data, accounts, and network use Everyday practice needs no account. Personal scores, imported files, recognition results, and detailed practice records stay on your device and are not uploaded to our servers. Cloud sync and source score-file export are not provided. Raw microphone audio is not saved as a recording. Forum loading, update checks, subscription verification, and referral services use the network. Content you choose to post in the forum is public.

Free, Pro, and Pro+ Basic playback, separate-hand practice, tempo control, loops, Free Practice, the metronome, favorites, and basic records are free. Full-screen reading and guided practice for some pieces share a limited usage allowance; Pro is required when it is used up. Personal-score tools, recognition allowances, and additional features are offered through Pro and Pro+.
