Paperweight turns your iPhone into what it should be more often: a quiet object on a still desk.

Set a weekly schedule for when your distracting apps are free. Outside those windows they're shielded, and your phone becomes a paperweight. No willpower required — the quiet just arrives on its own.

The catch, and the point, is how you get back early. The only way to lift the restrictions is to tap a physical NFC token you've placed somewhere a little inconvenient: another room, a drawer, the bottom of a bag. That small moment of friction is usually enough to ask yourself whether you really need the screen right now.

HOW IT WORKS • Choose the apps and categories to quiet. • Paint a weekly schedule of free time on a simple grid. • Tap your NFC token for a short, timed unlock when you genuinely need it. • Restrictions apply and lift automatically — nothing to remember.

NEVER TRULY LOCKED OUT Paperweight is built so you can't get stuck: • Single-use recovery codes for a lost token. • An optional timed "cool-off" unlock that releases on its own after a day. • Deleting the app always removes every restriction.

PRIVATE BY DESIGN Everything stays on your device. No account, no tracking, no data leaves your phone. Paperweight uses Apple's Screen Time (Family Controls) features to shield apps locally.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED Any inexpensive NFC tag — an NTAG215 sticker or keyfob works well. Put it somewhere out of easy reach. That's the whole idea.
