SafeBite is a second pair of eyes for reading ingredient labels — not a replacement for reading them. Point your camera at the ingredient list and SafeBite reads it on your device and checks it against the allergens you care about.

• On-device & offline — your camera reads the actual printed label using Apple's Vision framework. There's no barcode database to be stale or wrong, and it works in any grocery aisle with no signal.

• Catches hidden names — a curated dictionary maps derivative and hidden ingredient names (casein and whey to Milk, albumin to Egg, semolina to Wheat, tahini to Sesame, arachis to Peanut) back to the allergen they belong to.

• Profiles & custom allergens — add unlimited custom allergens and a profile for each family member, then switch who you're scanning for with a single tap.

• Honest by design — SafeBite never shows a green "safe" all-clear. You get one of three clear results: an allergen was found, none of your allergens were found (read the full label), or the label couldn't be read clearly. Every result sends you back to the label.

• Private — no photo or label text ever leaves your phone, and no account is required.

Important: SafeBite can miss allergens and cannot detect hidden cross-contact — "may contain," shared-equipment, and facility risks that aren't printed on the label. It is not a medical device and does not diagnose, treat, or prevent any condition.
