SMART ALLERGEN MATCHING AllergyLens goes beyond simple keyword search. The matching engine uses four stages of detection: — Direct match: catches exact allergen names — Derivative match: recognizes alternative names and derivatives (e.g., casein → dairy, edamame → soy) — Fuzzy match: catches OCR typos and misspellings using Levenshtein distance analysis — Semantic match: uses Apple's NLP word embeddings to find conceptually related ingredients
