This app began the morning my brother had a stroke at 31. He came back. What saved him can now stay with you.

On August 31, 2025, my brother Deivid had a stroke at 31 during a morning run. No chronic conditions. No warning signs. He recovered fully because his wife recognized the signs and acted fast.

Months later, that experience — the fear, the relief, and the hope — became By The River, my submission to the Swift Student Challenge 2026, where it was selected as one of the Winners.

WHY IT MATTERS

Stroke kills one person every 3.5 seconds and is the second leading cause of death worldwide — yet most people cannot recognize its early signs. The FAST protocol exists to change that, but awareness alone is not enough. People need to feel it.

By The River doesn't just teach the FAST protocol. It creates emotional memory: the kind that stays with you when it matters most.
