URL cleaner, UTM & privacy
Clean URLs and remove tracking tags — UTM, fbclid, gclid, redirects, affiliate codes. 100% on-device. No accounts, no logins. One tap to a clean link.
Every link you tap carries baggage — utm parameters, fbclid, gclid, affiliate tags, AMP wrappers, attribution traces. Pieces of the URL that exist only to track you or count clicks.
Unfurl strips it out before the page even loads.
Add Unfurl to Safari and it cleans links right in the network layer: tracking parameters are removed and AMP links are unwrapped to the real destination — automatically, on every page you open. No copying, no extra taps. The clean page is simply what loads.
HOW IT WORKS Unfurl is a Safari extension. Turn it on once in Settings → Safari → Extensions, allow it on the sites you want (or every website), and it runs quietly from then on. It uses Safari's declarativeNetRequest rules, so it works entirely in the network layer — Unfurl never reads, sees, or alters the content of your pages. It only ever touches the URL.
WHAT GETS CLEANED • Campaign tags — utm_source, utm_medium, utm_campaign, and the rest of the family. • Ad-click IDs — fbclid, gclid, and thousands more, from the ClearURLs, Brave, and AdGuard URL Tracking lists. • AMP wrappers — google.com/amp/s/… and ampproject.org links unwrap straight to the canonical page, skipping the redirect.
MAKE YOUR OWN RULES Some site pins a tracker the bundled lists don't name yet? Make a rule for it, right on your iPhone. Paste the link — or, where Apple Intelligence is available, describe in plain words what to keep and what to strip — and Unfurl flags the likely tracking and lets you set each parameter to Remove, Keep, or Leave alone. Save it, and that site cleans your way from then on, as pages load in Safari. Where Apple Intelligence is available, the reading is done on-device by Apple's models — a plain-language overview and a per-parameter explainer — and nothing about the link leaves your device. Your rules sync privately over iCloud, so a rule made here is already on your Mac, and you can share one by email as a plain rule file.
PRIVACY POSTURE Everything happens on your iPhone or iPad. Unfurl has no account, no sign-in, no analytics, and no telemetry — not even for itself. The rules are bundled in the app and run locally; nothing about the links you open is sent anywhere. Because it works in the network layer, it never has access to page content, passwords, or what you type. The Privacy Manifest declares zero tracking domains and zero collected data.
ONE PURCHASE, MAC AND iPHONE Unfurl on iPhone and iPad is part of the same purchase as Unfurl for Mac. On the Mac, Unfurl also cleans links the moment you copy them, with a menu-bar history of every clean.
