Gold Prospector is the all-in-one app for recreational gold prospectors and metal detectorists. Built by a lifelong prospector and metal detectorist, it brings together AI, GIS mapping, 1-meter LiDAR, and historic topo maps.

OFFLINE MAPS Download map areas before you go and use them with no service at all, including airplane mode. Not just the satellite view — LiDAR hillshades, historic topo, mining claims, public lands, property lines, and 3D terrain all come with it. Log finds and record tracks with no signal.

1-METER LIDAR HILLSHADE USGS 3DEP elevation shading that reveals what the ground remembers. Placer cuts, hydraulic pits, tailings piles, benches, and old water races show up in the terrain itself, even where brush has grown over for a century. Nationwide.

STREAMS, RIVERS & LAKES Every waterway in the lower 48, named where it has one. Line weight follows actual flow, and the map tells you which run year-round and which only after rain. Tap any stream for its name, size, and average flow.

HISTORIC TOPO MAPS Scanned USGS topographic maps back to 1879, overlaid on the modern world with an opacity slider so you can fade between then and now. Three eras spanning 1879 to 1940.

HISTORIC MAP BUILDER Go back in time. Over 250,000 town and city maps from the late 1800s through 1930, available to download and place on the modern map yourself. See the streets, buildings, and lots that were lost to time.

CLAIM WARNINGS The app watches your position and tells you when you step onto a mining claim, whether the layer is on or not. Active, filed, and pending all count if someone has staked it, you will know.
