Tacet turns exercise into screen time. Do pushups, squats, pullups, jumping jacks, situps, plank, or walk — and earn minutes to use your favorite apps. When your time runs out, apps lock again until you move.
HOW IT WORKS
- Choose which apps to lock behind exercise
- Pick an exercise — squats are free, all other exercises (pushups, pullups, jumping jacks, situps, plank, steps) are premium
- Complete reps or steps to earn screen time
- Start your session when you're ready — a Live Activity counts down your remaining minutes
- When time runs out, apps lock again. Earn more to keep going.
Choose whether to reset your earned time daily or allow banking across days.
CAMERA-COUNTED REPS
Prop your phone up. The front camera uses on-device pose estimation to count your reps in real time. No cloud processing. No video saved. No data leaves your phone.
Supports pushups, squats, pullups, jumping jacks, situps, and plank — each with a dedicated detection model and anti-cheat filtering. If you did the rep, it counts. If you didn't, it won't.
STEP GOAL (PREMIUM)
Hit your daily step goal and earn bonus screen time. Steps sync passively from Apple Health — no need to open the app while walking. Configure your goal and reward in Settings.
DAILY AND WEEKLY CHALLENGES
A new challenge every day: "Do 30 squats in under 2 minutes" or "Complete 3 exercise sessions before noon." Hit the target, earn bonus minutes. Weekly challenges for premium users add variety and keep it interesting.
Challenges rotate from a pool of 20+ templates. No repetition within 7 days. Daily streaks and milestone badges keep you moving.
BLOCKING THAT ACTUALLY WORKS
Tacet uses Apple's FamilyControls framework — the same system parents use for Screen Time restrictions. No VPN. No workarounds. When an app is locked, it's locked. Choose from 5 shield tones — from zen calm to Roast Me, which gets more savage the more you try.
SESSION MODE
You control when your earned time starts. Earn 30 minutes of screen time, then tap Start when you're ready. A Live Activity on your Dynamic Island and Lock Screen shows your countdown. Tap Stop when you're done — remaining time is saved until your daily reset.
If you forget to stop, a failsafe re-locks your apps when your balance hits zero.
STATS
See exactly where your time went. Earned vs. consumed vs. remaining. Which blocked apps used the most time. Exercise breakdown by type. 7-day trends for free users, 90 days for premium.
