The library pairs five original excerpts with five clearly labeled, AI-assisted modern adaptations. Explore scenes based on Glaspell, Ibsen, Chekhov, Wilde, and Shakespeare. Source editions, author and translator credits, and content notes are included. The selected source editions are public domain in the United States; copyright status varies by country. Modern adaptations are not the original playwrights' dialogue.

YOUR READER IS READY The practice library includes fixed, pre-generated AI reader voices. Trying another take does not generate new audio or use import credits. All reader voices are AI-generated.

FOLLOW THE SCENE A blue border marks the reader's current line; green marks your dialogue, with on-screen labels to help you follow along. These cues do not appear in the saved video. Speech recognition helps advance the scene using your dialogue cues. Try a practice take to find your rhythm.

RECORD, REVIEW, GO AGAIN Record with the front camera, watch your saved take, and try a different choice. Saved videos go to the Selftape Studio album in Photos, with filenames based on your role, name, and scene. Tap Stop when you are finished to keep the full ending.

Set the reader's balance for future saved videos in app-wide Settings, starting at -6 dB. Your phone's volume buttons control what you hear while recording. Recording a take does not upload your video to us; you choose what to export or share.

BRING YOUR OWN AUDITION SIDES Import a PDF, including watermarked sides. Review the detected scenes and characters, reassign a line to the correct character, and rename or merge duplicate characters. Pick your role and let the reader take the other parts. Re-importing the same sides to correct a parse does not use another import credit.

Payment is charged to your Apple Account at confirmation of purchase. The subscription renews automatically unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Manage or cancel it in your Apple Account settings.
