Rise keeps your chosen apps locked until you physically get out of bed. Walk 100 steps, or snap a photo of something across the room — your toothbrush, the kettle, the front door. Only then do your apps unlock.

WHY IT WORKS

The first 30 minutes after waking is when your self-control is weakest and your habits are strongest. That's why "just don't check your phone" never works. Rise doesn't ask for willpower. It removes the option until you've already stood up.

HOW IT WORKS

1. Choose which apps to lock — social, news, email, whatever pulls you under.
2. Set your wake-up window. Different schedules for weekdays and weekends.
3. Pick your unlock: steps, or a photo of a real object.
