Your Unique Activity BioSignature To truly personalise your recovery plan, we first need to understand your activity patterns before your operation. AfterSurg uses a secure hybrid AI algorithm to analyse your activity from month before your surgery, creating your unique activity BioSignature.

Every day after your operation, we compare your activity patterns to this BioSignature, allowing us to assess your recovery progress in real time. This ensures that your recovery journey is tailored specifically to you, rather than relying on generic post-operative guidelines.

Learning from Patients Like You Our recovery curves are built using a growing pool of data from patients who have undergone similar operations to you. This allows us to personalise your expected recovery trajectory based on real-world outcomes.

Not only do these curves reflect your specific operation, but they also reflect those of patients of a similar age group and preoperative fitness level. This means that your recovery goals are based on data from people like you, making them more relevant and achievable.

Share Your Progress with Your Surgeon – and the World! Surgeons love seeing their patients make good progress after surgery. AfterSurg gives you the option to share your recovery journey with your surgeon, providing valuable insights into your progress. Beyond that, you can also connect with friends, family, and other patients by sharing your milestones on social media. Creating a network of patients who have undergone similar operations can help provide motivation, reassurance, and a sense of community as you recover.

Designed by Surgeons, Developed with Patients and Scientists AfterSurg was created by surgeons who recognised that while technology is advancing rapidly, post-operative recovery has not kept pace. Our team has worked alongside world-leading universities and research institutions to conduct clinical trials validating the use of activity data in post-operative care.

We have gathered feedback from patients to understand what matters most to them during recovery and have integrated these insights into the app. Our methods have been tested in rigorous scientific studies and published in high-impact medical journals. Surgeon features:

Our team understand how important patient information and outcome measures are to surgeons and healthcare teams. AfterSurg has designed a dedicated surgeon console (AfterSurgeon) to allow you to monitor patient recovery and generate operation specific outcome measures. Our team has validated the use of physical activity data as a surrogate measure for post operative recovery. So alongside our operation specific recovery curves, you can see if your patients are following their expected recovery trajectory. You can also export anonymised patient data to audit your practice and even use it as a research tool to compare the outcomes of your interventions.

Data security:

We know how important data security and privacy is to patients. AfterSurg made an active decision not to collect or store any personal identifiable information. We ask for your age range, fitness level, operation type and date, as these allow you to have full functionality within the app. If you have signed in using a surgeon access code then you agree to share your data with your surgeon, otherwise you can use the share function as and when you please.
