Octocon is praised for its clean UI, strong privacy features, and solid logging tailored for systems. Pros

Beautiful, clean UI that’s intuitive and visually appealing.
Strong privacy/stealth features (stealth mode, disguising the app as a news app, quick exit).
Good for logging and organizing information about alters/fronts (journaling, folders, fronting indicators).
Discord integration or syncing with Discord for cross-platform use.

Cons

Onboarding and profile/setup issues (trouble creating a username and saving a profile picture).
Stability issues and bugs after updates (app can load slowly or break, requiring reinstall or loss of access).
Missing essential features (no in-app chat, no subsystems support, no analytics, no image embeds in fields/descriptions).
Data import/migration problems (importing from Simply Plural often doesn’t work).

We needed a new app for our system.. we were using SP but that’s clearly not feasible anymore. We were desperate and everyone we know said Octocon was great so we came here. Part of me thinks maybe I’m biased but also I couldn’t even fit they/them in the pronouns field without hitting a character limit. Our pronouns field and avatars all got ruined when we migrated from Simply Plural, half our avatars got chucked out and the pronouns field just entirely broke. Please at the very least fix the pronouns field before we resort to using the notes app. This is so ridiculous genuinely that it doesn’t even support 9 characters for a pronouns field
