Octocon is praised for its clean UI, strong privacy features, and solid logging tailored for systems. Overall, it’s promising and user-friendly, but fixes and feature expansion are needed to satisfy power users migrating from Simply Plural.

Pros

Beautiful, clean UI that’s intuitive and visually appealing.
Strong privacy/stealth features (stealth mode, disguising the app as a news app, quick exit).
Good for logging and organizing information about alters/fronts (journaling, folders, fronting indicators).
Discord integration or syncing with Discord for cross-platform use.

Cons

Onboarding and profile/setup issues (trouble creating a username and saving a profile picture).
Stability issues and bugs after updates (app can load slowly or break, requiring reinstall or loss of access).
Missing essential features (no in-app chat, no subsystems support, no analytics, no image embeds in fields/descriptions).
Data import/migration problems (importing from Simply Plural often doesn’t work).
Concerns about ongoing support and long-term availability (questionable maintenance, occasional reliability issues).

Our system, especially our littles, doesn’t particularly like this app. The interface is too bulky and overly enlarged. Additionally, most of our profiles were ruined during the migration from Simply Plural. Furthermore, there’s no chat feature, which prevents our system from communicating with each other. Overall, it’s quite confusing to use. If you’re seeking a more user-friendly and less complicated app to manage your system, we recommend using Plural Log.
