User Reviews

Reviews show Hex Warriors starts fun but quickly reveals serious balancing and monetization problems. Players praise the core concept and early gameplay, but repeated issues overshadow the experience: unfair matchmaking and power imbalances make progression feel dependent on spending; overpowered heroes like Archmage and other legendary units can instantly devastate defenses; updates introduce crashes, performance issues, and intrusive ads; some players report lost purchases or cards disappearing. The game remains appealing in theory, yet persistent pay-to-win mechanics and aggressive monetization threaten long-term enjoyment.
Pros
  • Fun and engaging core gameplay, especially in the early stages.
  • Addictive combat loop that makes you want to keep playing.
  • Promising concept with potential for strategic depth through card/hero choices.
Cons
  • Pay-to-win monetization and constant pressure to spend.
  • Flawed matchmaking and persistent power imbalances that punish non-spenders.
  • Overpowered archmage and other legendary units that can instantly devastate bases.
  • Ads that interrupt gameplay or require payment to remove.
  • Crashes and performance issues that ruin gameplay sessions.

Not good, every matchmaking I’m always against a way power team, get dominated 10 sec of every round. How does this even make sense.

The match making is ridiculous as you have to play against opponents 4-5x your level. Cards are over-powered allowing an opponent to release 1 warrior and destroy your entire base. There is no balance. The idea behind the game is good, but you can’t play it without a ton of mandatory ads, no matter if you select it or not. There also needs a mode that you can play until win by destruction or forfeit (no counting tiles).
