2026-07-29 Mo***** I appreciate the dev putting out some much needed updates. I believe they’re doing this solo, so there’s a lot of work to juggle, but I still love this app as an alternative to TikTok. Keep up the good work! Looking forward to more features in the future.

2026-06-23 JD***** Misses the mark on a couple of features, and the community is VERY small compared to the vast ocean of content on the centralized services, but the ingredients are there. Now we just need some of the features that make it easier to produce and edit video content within the app directly and a couple other control improvements… Things like : - draggable timeline to scrub for playback - hold down finger on screen for 2x playback speed - multiple recording segments and trimming within them - automatic subtitling / closed captioning - the ability to easily add open source sound effects and background music I think if the barrier to entry for content creation and playback controls are expanded, the community will continue to grow in the same way other decentralized communities are slowly doing so like Lemmy, Pixelfed, Mastodon, and more.

2026-05-16 th***** When attempting to sign up in the app, an error occurs that says invalid key. Instead of offering sign up within the app, maybe encourage users to create their account online first, and then sign in within the app, if this is a working solution. I will be accessing Loops from my desktop computer but it is critical that this app functions smoothly so that new users aren’t immediately put off by the unpolished bits and bugs. I’m excited to see how well the platform functions as a realistic alternative to TikTok/Reels so I can start working on increasing the user population. This goes for both Loops and Pixelfed.

2026-04-12 la***** I’ve never rated an app before, but I have to say, out of all the new platforms I’ve been trying, Loops is the only one that actually feels like it connects you to a real audience. Everything else has felt like posting into a void. I also love that it’s decentralized. I have a really good feeling about this app and I’m excited to see where it goes!

2026-02-19 Mr***** The app is really well thought out. I had no issues with the ui, viewing content, messaging and posting. It’s not as feature-full yet as mainstream social media apps but it’s under active development and the community is really nice and consistently growing. The small community is very opinionated and holds strong values of digital privacy and minimizing influence of big tech. There’s also a lot of discussion about politics and the current state of the world. If this sounds appealing to you, this app is perfect. But even if you are looking for a simple doom scrolling replacement, I think it’s also really ideal. The content feels limited at first,so you will have to develop your feed by following creators and commenting or liking content you want to keep. This app does not use shady profiling or privacy infringing analysis of your watch time or activity. It calculates your fyp based on simple metrics which you have full control over: likes, comments, which creators you follow, etc. if you don’t want it to think you like something, just don’t interact with that post. TLDR: High quality experience with all the basic social media app functionality. Opinionated small community. Privacy-respecting and controllable content recommendations!

2026-02-08 Ho***** Definitely still seeing improvements coming to the app but it’s just nice to have a platform for short form videos without ads and other BS that are showing up in the mainstream ones. Definitely fun and has that awesome indie feel that the more famous app had in the beginning.

2026-02-02 kh***** The concept of decentralized short-form content is great, but here are some of the problems I found: - If you don't follow anyone and go to the "Following" tab, it just loads forever. - The bottom bar in the iPhone 8 is too high, obscuring the audio text. - Sign-up occassionally glitches with "Invalid session key" error. - Not much customization compared to other apps, like custom themes and font size.
