Features & Capabilities

Divine Video is an independent, Vine-inspired platform for 6-second loops made by humans. It runs on an open protocol that gives creators ownership and control over their videos, with no advertisers or AI. Built with openness and community in mind, Divine emphasizes open source code, independent relays, and creator-first features like lists and invite codes.

Built with transparency in mind, Divine puts creative power back in human hands: open source code, public relays, and community-curated lists empower you to share, remix, and claim your space, while keeping your content yours.

User Reviews

Users are excited about Divine Video as a Vine revival, praising its nostalgic feel and as a smooth, solid remake with a Vine-like format. However, repeating issues hinder adoption: missing camera-roll uploads, recording latency, onboarding waitlists, and content/load/reliability problems (including occasional server errors and content restrictions). If these core usability and reliability concerns are addressed, the app could fully capture Vine’s creativity and community.
Pros
  • Nostalgia and Vine revival appeal; users are excited that Vine-like app is back.
  • Smooth remake with improvements over the beta/website version; overall user experience is described as smooth.
  • Familiar Vine-style format and vibe that users enjoy and want to use.
  • Some users report going semi-viral or viral with Vine-like content, expressing positive engagement potential.
Cons
  • Missing camera roll/upload from camera: users repeatedly request this feature and see it as a deal-breaker for continued use.
  • Recording latency: hold-to-record does not start instantly and some users note issues with 16:9 format vs square uploads.
  • Onboarding barriers: waitlist/invite-code requirement delays access for new users.
  • Content loading issues: videos sometimes fail to load or show as content restricted; some downloads are slow.
  • Intermittent server reliability: reports of 503 errors (e.g., during camera roll uploads) and other minor reliability bugs.

It may be time to get in a few updates? And maybe convince Twitter/x to get back the original vine logo and name back? For nostalgia sake
