User Reviews

Gymaholic is praised for its ease of use, deep customization, and strong workout tracking with a large exercise library and helpful features like audio cues. However, many users report persistent syncing problems (especially with Apple Watch/iCloud) and HR monitor connections, plus updates that disrupt workflow and concerns about premium pricing. Overall, it’s a powerful, flexible gym planner when it works, but reliability and pricing remain key issues for some users.
Pros
  • Very easy to use with an intuitive UX/UI and flexible programming that adapts to different training styles (Powerlifting, Bodybuilding, functional, etc).
  • Highly customizable: add your own workouts/exercises, duplicate workouts, and attach photos; create custom splits and routines.
  • Extensive library of exercises with many preloaded options; ability to upload personal exercises and pictures for clarity.
  • Strong tracking and insights for sets, reps, weights, and rest; good history and progress visibility.
  • Good Apple Watch integration and ability to sync with Apple Fitness; useful audio cues and rest timers.
Cons
  • Syncing with Apple Watch and iCloud is unreliable, with frequent glitches and updates that disrupt syncing.
  • Heart rate monitor integration is inconsistent; no clear in-app setting to connect HR monitors and live HR data can stop syncing.
  • Updates can remove or alter features, making on-the-fly edits and timer controls harder to use.

Best workout app ever
by Ko*****, 2026-06-03

This app sucks now. It was really good until you had to pay an increasingly more expensive subscription for the “same great experience” or whatever. Now, you can’t update weight on super sets, I have to constantly restore purchases to get the premium exercises to show up, and of all things, I pay a subscription for this tripe. Excel will work just fine, and I don’t have to pay a subscription for it.
