Review summary
Pros
- Excellent accessibility for blind and visually impaired users, with audio cues that describe streets and surroundings to aid orientation.
- Strong replacement for Soundscape; widely praised as a reliable successor and the go-to option after Soundscape's shutdown.
- Empowers exploration and builds confidence in unfamiliar environments through precise auditory spatial cues.
- Active development and responsive support, with regular updates and improvements to voices and settings.
Cons
- Street Preview mode is confusing to access and exit, with users reporting difficulty leaving the mode.
- Guidance and documentation are lacking; the FAQ is not easily searchable and users want more help with route simulation and turn-by-turn directions.

| 2026-03-07 | Al***** | I’m enjoying this app a lot so far, and I feel like it will be extremely helpful once I’ve gotten more used to it. The developers are doing a great job. I would benefit from a little more guidance on 1. how to simulate a route that starts at a point other than my current location, and 2. how to trigger turn-by-turn directions. I'd greatly appreciate insight on these issues! | |

| 2025-12-25 | Ta***** | I think it’s pretty good. I’m subscribing in hopes that it will get better. I don’t use it all that much, but I am finding some issues: The FAQ could be better. In particular, it could be searchable… But it also just needs to be expanded and flushed out. Recently, I tried to start up VoiceVista, put it in my pocket, and put in an AirPod. Just my motion of walking kept setting off the shake feature, which I would’ve liked to have disabled, but I could not find out how to do it… And the FAQ was no help. | |

| 2025-11-27 | Ig***** | I really love this app! It's much better than the original! However, I noticed that importing places from BlindSquare is no longer available. It would be great if that feature was restored, since it would make it easier to save markers. | |

| 2025-07-26 | Q5***** | Even though I'm giving this 5 stars, I have two questions: 1. If I'm in Street Preview mode and I get stuck in this mode, how would I exit the mode? 2. What if the sound effects list had all sounds? To make sure users can familiarize themselves and not just the POI and other sounds and even hint sounds, for example, there is one sound effect when the app opens and another when something like a call out is muted. Even though this would be considered an additional feature. | |

| 2025-02-26 | Am***** | This app gives me the equivalent of street signs and maps that I can explore. I've tried other apps but they're much harder for me to understand because they say the name of the street or other location like it's right in front of me rather than making the sound come from that direction. I can understand the space around me much better with this app. A minor thing is that when I'm running or tandem biking, I like to hear how fast I'm going. Voice Vista tells me this at random whenever it feels like it. How can I ask it for my velocity? | |

| 2024-01-27 | Le***** | I am very very grateful to the developers of VoiceVista, I was sad and a little nervous when soundscape shut down. My point of view, the developers are earth angels. | |
