Review summary

Users praise Liftoff for solid tracking and motivating gamification with an easy-to-use interface and a viable free tier. However, many repeatedly report billing/refund problems, concerns about pricing, stability glitches and data loss, limited free access to ranking features, and slow or unresponsive support. Overall, strong tracking and motivation are offset by monetization and reliability concerns.
Pros
  • Robust progress tracking including workouts, weights, PRs, and rest timer that helps you stay accountable.
  • Gamified motivation through a ranking system and body-graph style insights.
  • Easy to use and intuitive, making workouts feel engaging rather than tedious.
  • Free tier that lets you stay on track without an immediate subscription.
  • Social/competitive features like adding friends to stay motivated.
Cons
  • Billing and refund issues: unexpected charges after cancellation and slow or denied refunds.
  • Perceived high price / paywall for key features and premium access.
  • Stability and data reliability issues: glitches, progress loss, slow data loading, and device freezes.
  • Ranking features gated behind payment with limited free access (few rank attempts), causing frustration.
  • Customer support often unresponsive or unhelpful when issues arise.

2026-05-18 Lo***** May be good for people just starting, but other than that the workouts it generates are pretty amateur. Even when In the Highest setting I feel like the workouts arent good enough. And the Ai Scan isnt as accurate, making the whole year subscription absolutely useless.

2026-05-18 mr***** genuinely peak and good for both free and premium versions it’s really good for knowing what muscles to work on and how to target each muscle and overall it’s good for holding yourself accountable for lifting

2026-05-17 ev***** Favorite I’ve found but does have some annoyances. If I could ask for anything it would be for a barbell dumbbell weight cap. I have a home gym and my weights only go up so high. It’s frustrating having to change the weights only the auto generated workouts for every set. If it knew my max weight and could replace the exercise/variation when I hit the weight max it would be great
