However, recurring problems include slow or unreliable messaging, frequent bugs and login glitches, difficulties with scheduling and cancellations, data access gaps across affiliated hospitals, and billing/payment frustrations. Overall, it’s usable and feature-rich but reliability and cross-system data syncing need improvement.

Pros

Easy to use and navigate; essential health information is readily accessible on the phone.
Direct messaging with providers through the app reduces the need to call.
Quick access to test results, appointments, prescriptions, and visit summaries in one place.
Ability to schedule and manage appointments within the app, with reminders.
In-app billing capability to pay bills directly through MyChart.

Cons

Messaging response times are slow or inconsistent, ranging from 48 hours to never in some cases.
Frequent bugs and reliability issues (including identity verification failures, Face ID problems, and other glitches).
Appointment scheduling is cumbersome or unreliable (difficult to book, cancel, or some appointments disappearing).
Data access/integration problems across linked hospitals (missing data, not all records visible, cannot access external system data).
Billing/payments issues and a confusing UI (payments misapplied, per-bill payment not possible in some views).

Do not use this app to make payments. I have made payments that have been deducted from my HSA, but UH claims that I never made payment. This has occurred multiple times.

Cannot access my children’s records. Shown a notice that I need to confirm my identity… when I click the link it refreshes the same screen with no option to submit what’s needed to confirm my identity. Lots of bugs like this throughout which make it incredibly frustrating to use this app.
