Users like the Forest eBike system for its free initial minutes, generally available bikes, and comfortable, responsive Forest bikes with a sustainability angle. However, widespread issues drag down the experience: unpredictable parking charges and billing inconsistencies (including £20 fees and misaligned receipts), frequent app problems (login/logout during rides, code errors after updates, poor end-ride flow, slow loading, unreliable ride tracking), and mechanical reliability concerns (motors failing or not powering on, bikes stopping mid-ride). Parking spot scarcity compounds problems.

Pros

Free minutes (daily/initial 10 minutes).
Bikes are generally available / quick to access.
Forest bikes are comfortable and responsive, often preferred to Lime.
Easy to use for first-time riders.

Cons

They are not transparent or upfront with actual pricing. Display £1 for 30 minutes. Charged £22 for one hour. Can only rent 1 bike per account. Terrible service. Call Center was also closed. DO NOT USE FOREST BIKES!!!

The bikes were nice, and the first 30 minutes is only a pound. However, if you go Past, that 30 minutes, it’s 30 pence a minute. I wrote the bike for 45 minutes and it took me 15 minutes just to find a suitable place to park it for them. I was well within the white circle and I kept getting a notice that I was not able to park there. I had to take it in and out of the circle multiple times and even tried to go to other locations that never seemed to work. It was beyond frustrating and to use that bike for one hour cost me well over $30. I would never use this company again very disappointing! I could’ve rented another bike for the entire day for less than $10
