User Reviews

Users like the Forest eBike system for its free initial minutes, generally available bikes, and comfortable, responsive Forest bikes with a sustainability angle. However, widespread issues drag down the experience: unpredictable parking charges and billing inconsistencies (including £20 fees and misaligned receipts), frequent app problems (login/logout during rides, code errors after updates, poor end-ride flow, slow loading, unreliable ride tracking), and mechanical reliability concerns (motors failing or not powering on, bikes stopping mid-ride). Parking spot scarcity compounds problems.
Pros
  • Free minutes (daily/initial 10 minutes).
  • Bikes are generally available / quick to access.
  • Forest bikes are comfortable and responsive, often preferred to Lime.
  • Easy to use for first-time riders.
  • Sustainability / eco-friendly approach to city mobility.
Cons
  • Unpredictable billing and parking charges (including £20 fees) and misaligned receipts.
  • App reliability issues (logins/logouts during rides, code errors after updates, slow loading, end-ride flow problems, unreliable ride tracking).
  • Bike reliability problems (motors failing or not powering on, stopping mid-ride).
  • Limited parking / docking spots and poor parking UX.
  • Bikes not always where indicated / inaccurate bike locations.

Tried to park next to a group of 4 other forest bikes in a respectful out of the way place. It said can’t park here but didn’t find me any clear direction on where to go. Wasted 15 mins and doubled the going around in circles save your time and money and do lime or walk…

You need your password or your email and phone number. You cannot reuse the phone number with a different account. This is basically a rubbish app in an environment of too much competition.

I wanted to like them over Lime however there weren’t as many return spots and the app used to track your service and find places to return the bike were really annoying. It didn’t work well. I should’ve used Lime from the beginning and didn’t. I thought I’d try something new and paid the price.
