Users like the Forest eBike system for its free initial minutes, generally available bikes, and comfortable, responsive Forest bikes with a sustainability angle. However, widespread issues drag down the experience: unpredictable parking charges and billing inconsistencies (including £20 fees and misaligned receipts), frequent app problems (login/logout during rides, code errors after updates, poor end-ride flow, slow loading, unreliable ride tracking), and mechanical reliability concerns (motors failing or not powering on, bikes stopping mid-ride). Parking spot scarcity compounds problems.

Pros

Recent reviews

I see Forest bikes on the road, but when I try to sign up the SMS verification page hangs, and there are no bikes showing in the map, even though the app says bikes are nearby. This after I already have to agree to have my phone crawled and trackers installed. 😕

Nice bikes, haven’t had problems really and the big plus is that Forest works with a US number when verifying the cc. Another company we tried first took us all the way through registration etc and never delivered on sending the code (due to intl number). Forest made it easy and the app works great and bikes an excellent to get around too!
