User Reviews

Users praise iCollect for easy cataloging, barcode scanning, and strong customization across many item types. However, recurring issues include data loss after updates, steep pricing and paywalls, performance glitches, unreliable backups/restores, and UI/search frustrations. When it works, it’s a valuable tool for organization; but reliability and pricing concerns are the dominant themes across multiple reviews.
Pros
  • Easy to use and effective for cataloging a wide range of items (books, movies, comics, toys, etc.).
  • Barcode scanning and bulk-add features simplify data entry.
  • Highly customizable with many pre-set categories and the ability to create your own fields.
  • Supports photos and detailed item data, plus export options (PDF/CSV) for sharing or backup.
  • Generally valued for organization and data management when the app is functioning well.
Cons
  • Data loss or disappearing items after updates or sync, with some users unable to restore data.
  • High and sometimes opaque pricing with frequent paywalls or upgrades.
  • Performance and stability issues: slow loading, unresponsive controls, and frequent glitches.
  • Reliability problems with backups/restores (cloud backups, restoration failures, or export limitations).
  • UI/search frustrations and usability changes (clunky interface, search inconsistencies, and preferences lost after updates).

It’s all in the title. You can track 30 items for “free” just enough to be annoying. The cost is “reduced” to $100 for unlimited collections or $50 for one collection for life. That seems like it’d be it right? Already too much for a fancy excel sheet, but hey- gotta wring a dime out of every single pore of a person, am I right? Because once you decide to buy a “lifetime unlimited” subscription to this stupid app, you’ll be prompted to sign up for the $180 pro plan… Get out of my pocket, vultures!
