Sitters are independent agents. If you are traveling to new locations and cannot vet a sitter, this is NOT the app to use. Our first attempt was a disaster.

As a River sitter I have had a couple incidents with owners pet destroying furniture and Rovers WILL NOT do anything about it. For a company that NOT only tact’s on 11% to the owners fee to pay BUT then they take 20% from the sitters earnings. They are making 31% off EVERY booking. They can say it’s to help with upkeep and problems if they occur, the problems occur and you leaver the sitters hanging! I had a basset hound who tore up my couch and stunk to high heaves. The owner had someone else come get him after 6 days. Rover took most of my earrings, wouldn’t do anything about my couch . Said it was between the owner and myself. The owner was aggressive and wouldn’t pay for anything thing. I paid more in cleaning supplies and having my rugs cleaned than what I made off the stay. Rover needs to change their % take from both sides, especially taking it from the sitters!
