User Reviews

Users praise Everand for its wide title selection and affordable pricing, with many noting the three monthly unlocks as good value and the app’s ease of use. However, consistent complaints center on a restrictive subscription model—unlocks and access can be lost after cancellation—plus books disappearing mid-read and frequent app glitches. Content gaps (missing series or popular authors) and uneven customer support further dampen experiences. Overall, it’s a strong value if you can tolerate reliability and catalog limitations, but these issues undermine long-term usability.
Pros
  • Wide selection and great variety of titles
  • Low price / affordability compared to competitors
  • Easy to use and user-friendly interface
  • Three monthly unlocks offer budget-friendly access for many users
Cons
  • Subscription model changes lock content and cause loss of access when canceling
  • Books can become unavailable mid-read with no warning
  • App instability: connection issues, progress not saving, and occasional crashes
  • Content gaps: missing titles in series or by popular authors
  • Customer support slow or perceived as unhelpful; taxes/fees can inflate cost

It used to be great. Now it’s pointless. It’s no different than Audible. It used to be the Spotify of Audiobooks, but now, they’re like a lesser Audible and have no reason to actually exist when Audible is a thing.

I’ve never written a review on anything before, but this has truly become ridiculous. I love the app, love the book selection, love especially the new rolling over of credits. What I don’t love is that it takes me 10-20 mins to actually open the app. There’s no magic fix. Restarting my phone or the app does NOT fix the issue. It will open, not load, and then crash back to my home screen. This has happened up to 30 times trying to open the app (in one instance). So if I’m trying to get on the app multiple times a day…you see, that’s a lot of time wasted. I’ve had to start reading on Everand’s safari browser on my phone! I’m also not the only person having these issues if you find the Reddit thread. It’s making people leave. Please fix this buggy app. I would love to continue my subscription, but with the way it crashes, I spend more time tending to that than reading. Would be 4 stars if not for the app issue.

While I understand that the original pricing model may have made it difficult to ensure the authors and the publishers were fairly compensated. I feel that more options need to be made available to subscribers the option to buy extra unlocks during the month. Another idea would be to introduce something similar to Kindle Unlimited, where subscribers on a higher-tier plan could access a curated selection of books in addition to the monthly unlock system. This could provide greater value for frequent readers while still supporting authors and publishers through the subscription model.
