User Reviews
Pros
- Excellent low-light imaging that feels like real night-vision on an iPhone.
- Versatile visuals and camera options, including color modes, black-and-white, and the ability to flip between front and rear cameras.
- Practical real-world utility and reliability for night-time tasks (boating, locating objects, finding pets).
- Clean, simple UI that makes the app easy to use.
Cons
- Not true night vision; results are a digital enhancement rather than real hardware night vision.
- UI quirks on certain devices (controls can block the view, and some buttons may be hard to access on tablets like the iPad Pro 10.5).
- Missing features such as video recording and other enhancements users have requested.
- Ads in the free version (advertising can be intrusive depending on usage).

I have had plenty of experience as a boat captain often operating at night and I quickly learned that having passive night vision in my arsenal of tools was a extremely helpful. Over the years, night vision binoculars or monocular proved essential. When I first saw that I could get night vision in an app for my phone I was extremely skeptical. How could an app even come close to true night vision? Well, I tried several different ones before finding this app is the best of the bunch. I’ve been using it for almost a year now and I can honestly say, in spite of a slight learning curve, this app is the real deal. Does it compare with a pair of $2,000 binoculars? Yes. Granted, if you have $800 to $2,000 and up to spend, you will get state of the art light amplification. But this app is state of the art light amplification for my iPhone camera.. and I didn’t spend anywhere near what I spent on binoculars that are usually left on the boat. I take my Night Eyes with me everywhere. I. My pocket. When I need to know what’s out there in the dark, I have what I need to see it. This actually works. And it actually works quite well. Try it. Take a week or so to play with different settings to get an idea of how it works and how to see what you are looking at. I seriously recommend it to anyone who wants to see in near total darkness.
