User Reviews

Most reviewers praise the magazine's content and the idea of reading Good Housekeeping digitally, but the app is plagued by recurring problems. The most cited issues are login problems and being unable to access or download issues, especially November and other months. Many users report the app crashes, freezes, and duplicated pages when they finally load. Support is often unresponsive or unhelpful, and some report confusing billing practices, including paid digital subscriptions and paywalls despite active subscriptions. A few users still enjoy the magazine and the online reading experience when it works.
Pros
  • Engaging, high-quality Good Housekeeping magazine content that readers find informative and enjoyable.
  • Digital access via the app lets readers read online on iPad and continue the magazine experience for long-time subscribers.
  • Positive sentiment about the magazine itself and its value, as noted by long-time readers.
Cons
  • Frequent login/authentication problems blocking access.
  • Issues failing to download or appearing (e.g., November) despite active subscriptions.
  • App crashes, freezes, and repeated page duplication within issues.
  • Unresponsive or unhelpful customer support and slow responses.
  • Confusing billing/subscription model, including separate digital subscriptions and paywalls.
Recent reviews
I have been a subscriber for several years but recently have been unable to locate, never mind download, the July/August 2025 edition. It simply does not appear, even when I restore my purchases. I am repeatedly asked to pay for issues even though I have an active subscription. I have tried contacting the developers and their responses have been unhelpful. The FAQs section tells me “access denied”. This is unacceptable. I am canceling my subscription, which is a shame because I enjoyed reading the magazine.
