User Reviews

User reviews consistently praise the Country Living Magazine content but condemn the app for instability and access problems. Common issues include crashes/freezes, failed downloads, and login/account mismatches (often due to separate print/digital subscriptions). The design is considered outdated with clunky navigation and intrusive ads that disrupt reading. Some users value offline viewing on iPad, but overall reliability, account management, and a magazine-like UX are the biggest needs.
Pros
  • High-quality magazine content.
  • Offline viewing / download capability on iPad.
  • Regular monthly issues delivered in the app.
Cons
  • Frequent crashes and instability; the app freezes.
  • Cannot access/download issues; login/account issues, often due to separate print/digital subscriptions.
  • Outdated, clunky UI with poor navigation and cumbersome page turning.
  • Intrusive ads and redirects that disrupt reading.
  • Confusing subscription model and occasional pay-per-issue charges.

This app is stuck in design from like 5 years ago and makes for a bad viewing experience. The magazine is wonderful but the app freezes regularly, crashes frequently. It needs a rework. Friends and I regularly complain to each other about how frustrating it is - when what we really want to talk about is this gem of a magazine. Please, please fix this.

The Country Living Magazine app is so so poorly made. It often times out requiring several restarts. It doesn’t scroll through like an article and it doesn’t “flip” a page either. And I can almost never access older prints without having to download several times before it actually allows me to see. What’s supposed to a relaxing and enjoyable, enlightening experience turns to frustration and aggravation!

I bought a print and digital subscription today and have tried to read an article on line.. well low and behold that isn’t allowed until you sign you up and get another account since the print and digital are two separate things. OK fine. To get into the digital side they want my email and zip code which isn’t recognized. This is extremely frustrating since I have already signed in and have paid for the darn thing. I am canceling this thing. Really the left hand should know what the right hand is doing.
